Q: Does this die accommodate all the size cases and all one has to do is change mandrels ?
A: Yes, that is correct, one die body will work with all the listed mandrels. The die body is oversize to work for MOST calibers.
Q: Regarding your Expanding Mandrel Die. Approximately how much under any given bullet diameter are the mandrels sizing the I.D. of the case neck to? What size tension fit will I see, .001" / .002" / .003", of what? All brass will spring back differently I understand, but typically what will be the tension fit?
All mandrel diameters are listed on this product page. We have designed these to provide a consistent neck tension on new brass as we were having an issue with our new cases coming in with way too much neck tension. Yes, every case is different and you will want to make sure it works for your application.
Q: Will this replace oils school neck sizing?
No, this will not replace old school neck sizing, nothing beats a good bushing neck sizer on getting uniform grip on the bullet. These are specifically designed to be used on new cases to get the most out of your brand new brass.
Q: Can I get, 22Caliber, 6MM, 6.5MM, 7MM, 30Caliber, Mandrels With My Mandrel Die
all In one order? As a set?
A: Hello, for individual mandrels please visit this page. https://lewilson.com/wilson-expanding-mandrels-only
Q: Since these are Stainless and nor Carbide do they require case lube?
A: Hello, yes, we recommend a graphite case lube applied with a wire brush seems to work best. This will keep your cases a bit cleaner.
Q: I noticed that your 6.5 expander is .263 rather than .262.
Would there by any chance be a .001 spring back?
I'm looking for a .002 neck tension on my Lapua cases.
A: We make them .001 up to .0015 under to allow for some spring back. Brass has memory and you will most likely end up at .002 grip, that is what we realized in our testing.
