Thick necks can cause high chamber pressures and erratic shooting. Neck reamers remove excess neck material to insure adequate clearance exists between the case neck and the chamber.
Reamers can also be used when forming wildcats from a parent case. Reamers are used in the trimmers in place of the trimmer cutter. Standard reamers are sized for use on fired, unsized cases. Another application is to use them to remove doughnuts formed during firing or resizing brass.
Special sizes can be ground but will extend lead time.

Jimmy G of Arlington WA Rating: 5 Stars Date Posted: 12/2/2014 Review: I have one for every caliber that I load. Usually I only use it after the first firing and they you are good to go for the life of your brass.
Glenn of Roselawn, IN Rating: 5 Stars Date Posted: 2/25/2010 Review: This inside neck reamer when used with a Wilson trimmer and case holder works very well. I used to ruin some cases when converting 220 Russian to 22 PPC with a neck turner (Lyman) and have had zero ruined cases with this inside reamer setup. I highly recommend this product for its simplicity and reliability.
